Providing Feedback

Thank you for testing the The Online World resources handbook! Here is some information to help you provide feedback.

Reward

If you submit feedback that results in an upgrade of the text, you will be free to use the handbook for as long as you like as a registered reader.

What feedback to provide?

[1] A web address (URLs) in the handbook is not working.

Reasons may be many. For example, many web page owners and file library administrators move pages and files to other directories, other hosts, or just stop offering the service - without telling me.

If you locate such an error, please tell me:

  • the location (web address of the page where this error is found)
  • provide a text (string) that I can use to quickly locate the exact spot in the chapter where the error occurs
  • explain the error
  • if you can find the new address carrying the service, then I will be very thankful!

Note: Please make sure the problem is not a temporary Internet network problem.

[3] The online world is moving and shaking.

New services are launched daily. I am busy monitoring the action in an attempt to keep the handbook current.
All suggested additions to the handbook's contents are welcome, as are any proposed changes.

The best way of suggesting changes/additions is by telling me:

  • the location (number of chapter or appendix), where you suggest that the change or added text should be inserted.
  • provide a text (string) that I can use to quickly locate the exact spot in the text.
  • describe the change/addition in a couple of paragraphs maximum, and include URLs where relevant.
  • tell me why you think it should be included. Please bear in mind that one of the book's _ambitions_ is to strive to achieve a geographical balance of references, and that North America and Europe are over-represented.
